Compare Co-parenting Apps

An honest look at how Co-parenting Clarity stacks up against OurFamilyWizard, TalkingParents, and AppClose. Every family is different, so we want you to pick the app that actually fits your situation.

A note about this page: We built Co-parenting Clarity because we believe co-parenting tools should lead with collaboration, not conflict. This comparison is based on publicly available feature lists and pricing as of 2026. We encourage you to try any of these apps and choose what works for your family.

What Makes Co-parenting Clarity Different?

Collaboration first, not litigation first

Most co-parenting apps market themselves around court orders, legal compliance, and "unalterable records." Those features matter, but they set a combative tone from the start. Co-parenting Clarity was designed around the idea that most co-parents want to cooperate and just need better tools to do it. Court documentation is a quiet secondary benefit, not the lead value proposition.

ToneClarity: nudges, never blocks

Co-parenting Clarity includes ToneClarity, a client-side sentiment analysis system that scans messages before they're sent. If a message contains language that might escalate conflict, the parent sees a gentle nudge with a suggestion to reconsider the tone. Unlike some competitors, ToneClarity never blocks a message. Parents always have the choice to send it as written. The goal is awareness, not censorship.

Features other apps charge extra for

GPS custody exchange check-ins, child illness tracking with fever and medication logs, automatic holiday rotation, and a free attorney portal with private case notes are all included at every pricing tier. Many competing apps either don't offer these features or lock them behind premium plans.

Lower cost for families

At the Founding Member rate of $5/month, Co-parenting Clarity costs a fraction of what competing apps charge, and the subscription covers both parents. There are no per-parent fees, no tiered feature lockouts, and no surprise charges.

When Another App Might Be a Better Fit

We want you to use the right tool for your situation, even if it's not ours. Here's when you might look elsewhere:

If your court specifically orders a particular app

Some courts or attorneys may require OurFamilyWizard, TalkingParents, or AppClose by name in a custody order. If that's your situation, use what your court requires. Co-parenting Clarity is newer and doesn't yet have the same level of court familiarity, though our reports are designed to be court-ready and suitable for submission.

If you need in-app audio/video calling today

Co-parenting Clarity does not currently offer built-in calling, though this is a planned feature for a future update. If recorded phone or video calls between co-parents are something you need right now, TalkingParents, AppClose, or OurFamilyWizard offer this feature on their paid plans.

If you need in-app payment transfers today

Co-parenting Clarity tracks shared expenses with approval workflows and payment confirmation, but doesn't yet process payments directly. In-app payment transfers are a planned feature for a future update. In the meantime, OurFamilyWizard and AppClose offer in-app payment transfers if that's something you need right now.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I switch from OurFamilyWizard or TalkingParents to Co-parenting Clarity?

Yes. You can start using Co-parenting Clarity at any time. Your existing records in other apps will remain in those platforms. There's no data import between apps, but your new activity in Co-parenting Clarity will be documented from day one, and court reports can be generated from your first interaction forward.

Is Co-parenting Clarity court-approved?

Co-parenting Clarity generates comprehensive, timestamped court reports that are suitable for submission to family courts, attorneys, mediators, and Guardians ad Litem. While we are a newer platform and don't yet appear in court orders by name the way established apps do, our documentation meets the same standards of accuracy and completeness.

Does my co-parent need to use the same app?

For shared features like messaging, calendar, and expense tracking, both parents need to be on Co-parenting Clarity. However, features like the private journal, illness tracking, and court reports work even if your co-parent hasn't joined yet.

Can my attorney access my records?

Yes. Co-parenting Clarity offers a free attorney portal where your family law attorney can view your co-parenting records, add private case notes (never visible to either parent), flag items as court-relevant, and generate filtered court reports. Attorney access is always free.

What devices does Co-parenting Clarity work on?

Co-parenting Clarity is a Progressive Web App (PWA) that works on any device with a modern web browser. It's also available on Google Play for Android. iPhone and iPad users can add it to their home screen from Safari for a native app experience. A dedicated iOS app is planned for the future.
